2015 Prism Award Winner – Attic Conversion Addition

This attic conversion addition project won a 2015 Prism Award in the category of Addition under $150,000. The overall concept of this attic conversion project was to create a second floor living space in this traditional one story home in the Heights section of Houston.

The client wanted two additional bedrooms with a full bathroom. This is a remodel and finish of their existing unfinished attic space with a minor alteration to the existing roof line (dormer) on the back. We created on two levels; the first level has a bedroom and a bath.  A dormer was added to this area to expand the space. The upper level sits over the family room tray ceiling, is 4 steps up and has one bedroom, a large closet and window seating that covers HVAC ducts. Hardwood flooring with a walnut stain was installed.  The bathroom has bronze fixtures, an undermount sink and marble countertop.  We installed a new stairwell with storage under. The end result was a classic look blending in with the style of the existing elements of the home.
